Spokane Chapter IAAP
International Association of Administrative Professionals
Welcome to the Lilac City's IAAP Chapter!
We are proud to be a leader in developing Administrative Professionals' careers in Eastern Washington.
History
Our chapter was established in September of 1946 in Spokane, Washington. Our Association was first recognized under the name of National Secretaries Association (NSA). As boundaries melted away and the global business world emerged it became known as Professional Secretaries International (PSI) in the 1980s. Continued growth and change in the profession in the 1990s made it necessary to encompass all fields of office and administrative professionals worldwide. The Association's name then evolved into International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) which better reflects the true nature of today's office professionals.
Chapter Mission
To preserve the changing identity of office professionals by providing professional development through education and networking.
Chapter Values
We value Commitment, Dedication, Growth, Harmony, and Respect.

IAAP – SPOKANE CHAPTER 331000 November 2009 Membership Meetings Minutes
Present: Pamela Keller, Helen Donier, TeriAnne Nahulu-Spivy, Clydene Franklin, Sue Lutz, Sherree Niepomnik, Edie Milanovich, Carla Stamatoplos, Romona Morris, LaRayne Conley and Jayme Hilsen
Guests: Dyan (Dee) Thayer, Kathy Gurley, Shawnna Dye and Detective Stacey Carr.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Pamela Keller at 6:15 p.m. on November 18, 2009.
Program: Detective Stacey Carr, from the Spokane Police Department Fraud and Identity Theft Division, spoke to the IAAP group about How Does Identity Theft Affect You? She stated that the economy is affecting the increase in identity theft and fraud. She handed out flyers on Fighting Fraud with the Red Flags Rule, plus How to Comply with the Privacy of Consumer Financial Information Rule of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. We were reminded that we should have a safe place within our homes where we put our extra credit cards and vehicle titles, preferably a locked place or one that is difficult to find. We should only have one registration and one insurance form in our jockey box. Never leave your purse in the car, too easy for robbers to break windows and get it. Always carry your purse; never put in a shopping cart. Clean out your house of extra papers and old checks by shredding them. Too much personal information is on papers that a thief could use to steal your identity.
